PROF. BALL..

PROF. ANTHONY BALL MADE HIS TRANSITION LAST WEEK. THE WORLD FEELS A BIT SMALLER AND SAD TO ME THESE DAYS. I KNOW THAT IT IS NOT WHAT HE WANTS SINCE HE IS THE ONE WHO HELPED ME SEE THAT THE WORLD IS HUGE AND I CAN TAKE FULL ADVANTAGE OF IT. HE ENCOURAGED, MOTIVATED, INSPIRED, AND PROVIDED A GREAT FRIENDSHIP. HE IS ONE OF THE MEN IN MY LIFE THAT WAS AN EXAMPLE OF WHAT A MAN SHOULD BE, STRONG, PRESENT, MOTIVATED. THE PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE WHO LOVE YOU INTO A BETTER PERSON SHOULD NEVER BE TAKEN FOR GRANTED. HOLD THEM EACH DAY AND TAKE THEM INTO ALL THINGS POSITIVE IN YOUR LIFE. THIS IS HOW I WILL HONOR PROF. BALL, BY NOT QUITTING AND MEETING MY PURPOSE IN THE WORLD. THANK YOU PROF. BALL, FOR SEEING ME AND MY POSSIBILITIES BEFORE I SAW MYSELF.

Blood poured into separations
until they were full
and clarity was submerged.
Only those who touched villainy
knew what had changed
those with a complete loss of faith
are the first to feel the earth shifting
they have watched hope dissolve and emptiness spread
they have pondered the idea of blood being clear inside your body
and why it chooses to leave it red

the sun came up those days
and we god dressed
some prayed
gathered our kids and went about business those days
kissed our lovers
missed our lovers
welcomed our lovers home those days
we checked on the movement and lost guidance those days
when breathing was uneasy and the center portion of your hearts turned solid
in the name of testimony
everyone asking what we will do now
who will we march behind
and live our dreams for
achieve our dreams by any means for
who will lead us now

the spiritual riot was not documented
the tears
silence
screams
nightmares
consoling
fear
ache
none of it was placed on a canvas
and displayed for the world to experience
only the broken cities and anger was on the radio and tv
so if you didn’t live it
you missed the world shifting
and you were hypnotized
while hope dissolved and emptiness spread
only the villains rejoiced those days
when the world learned that
Martin and Malcolm were dead
they danced while we cried
over those spots where the blood turned red
they laughed while we watched emptiness spread

the best weapon in war is reserve
the best weapon in war is reserve
so when the enemy believes you’ve been conquered
you can come back in survival mode
our leaders, they were dreamers
and the divine told them
to store faith in our stomachs
and hope in our toes
so we would be hungry for better
and we could walk towards forever
living out dreams
what is legacy
it is the world remembering
what you lived and died for
what we need to survive for

the sun will come up these days
we will get dressed
some will pray
we will gather our kids and go about our business these days
we will kiss our lovers
miss our livers
and welcome our lovers home these days
then we will check out the movement
remember we are it
and rub the solid center of our hearts for inspiration
motivation
determination
and we will share our dreams and testimonies with our children
so they will never be conquered
